Thor Motor Coach Introduces The New 2023 Thor Omni

Thor Motor Coach has long been known for its luxurious, high-quality motorhomes. The 2023 Thor Omni follows that tradition and adds some very cool new features to this already spectacular Super C motorhome. In this article, we’ll take a look at just what the 2023 Thor Omni offers for your RV glamping adventures.

The 4×4 chassis

Let’s start with the 4×4 chassis. It’s not like you’re going to take this behemoth off-roading. However, it’s still nice to have the option of putting the 10-speed transmission into 4×4 mode when things get slippery. Mother nature is full of surprises these days, and having 4×4 in an unexpected snowstorm is an awesome safety feature.

While we’re on the topic of the chassis: The 2023 Thor Omni rides on either a powerful turbo-diesel Ford F550 or F600 chassis and has the power to easily tow 10,000 lbs while carrying a maximum cargo weight of 4,600 lbs. Even though you probably won’t be maxing it out this way very often, it’s nice to have all that power in a large motorhome.

Driving features

This RV is comfortable to drive, with very little indication of the cab-over bunk while you drive. Plush leather seating in the front and adjustable pedals help enhance the driving experience.

In place of a rearview mirror is a monitor for the rearview camera. It also uses cameras mounted the sides of the coach to automatically offer a side view whenever turn signals are used.

Driver assistance features like a built-in collision sensor will help to enhance safety, especially if you’re tired from driving.

The Omni has a keyless entry that many RVers will appreciate. Mirrors, slides, and the LED-lit power patio awning can all be operated via a phone app. The app allows you to control many of the features of the Omni from a remote location.

Built for comfort both on and off-grid

The 2023 Thor Omni comes well equipped whether you choose to camp on or off-grid. The built-in diesel generator provides enough power for both air conditioners when you aren’t plugged in.

A water recirculation system ensures that water isn’t needlessly wasted. The cold water that comes out of taps while waiting for the tankless water heater to heat is recirculated back into the 75-gallon freshwater tank.

Oh, and talking about tanks, here’s what the Omni’s tank capacities are:

  • Gray water: 40 gallons
  • Black water: 45 gallons
  • Freshwater: 75 gallons
  • LP: 68 gallons

Although these capacities aren’t excessive, they should be plenty to get you through at least a few days of off-grid living.

Solar power setup

When you’re off-grid, you may be able to harness electricity from the sun to operate any of the three TVs that the Omni comes with.

To this end, Thor equips the Omni with a 100-watt Go Power rooftop solar panel, an 1800-watt inverter, and lithium coach batteries.

Floorplans and interior design

For 2023, Thor is updating the interior of the Omni with some nice touches. These include available soft gray cabinetry and a new black and gray color scheme called Cosmic Strandz.

A highlight of the new updates for 2023 is a windshield above the over-cab bunk. This huge windshield has a light-blocking power shade. The shade can be controlled either from the phone app or from the central control pad in the coach.

The Omni is available in five different floorplans. Some of these have an outdoor kitchen, and they all have an outdoor TV/entertainment center.

All of the floorplans have amazing storage capacity in both the outside basement storage areas and indoor cabinets. One huge cabinet is ready for a washer and dryer setup, if wanted. In the event you didn’t want a washer and dryer in your RV, the space could provide even more wardrobe storage.

Conclusion

The 2023 Thor Omni is a comfortable, thoughtfully designed Super C RV. Even though it’s a big motorhome, Thor has taken steps to help ensure that drivers will be safe and comfortable.

The Omni has a spacious design and plenty of sleeping areas built into all floorplans. Ample storage and sleeping areas help make it a family-friendly home away from home.

  1. The addition of new features sounds appealing like adding lipstick to a pig. However Thor manufacturing has serious QUALITY issues in the details of each build. As a new RV inspector at a major RV retailer it is clear that QA at the factory is lacking.

  2. We’ve just purchased a 2022 Omni xg32. We hadn’t looked at the 2023 models, due to the savings we could get from a 2022.. and I was curious to see what a 2023 had, that we did not. With the exception of the color scheme… we have everything listed.
