RV LIFE Podcast Enjoys Successful First Year On The Air
Sometimes, a really good idea works out. With the rapid growth of RVing and the RVing lifestyle, coupled with continued growth in the podcast industry, the RV LIFE Podcast was one of those good ideas. Launched in December of 2022, this lively podcast featuring Dan & Patti Hunt now celebrates its first year.
Hitting the Ground Running
Dan and Patti didn’t take long to settle in and find their groove, and their voice. The RV LIFE Podcast had just a few weeks to do that during the holiday season of 2022 before it had to hit the ground running at the Florida RV SuperShow that following January. One of the largest RV industry shows of the year proved to be a strong breeding ground for great ideas, and even better guests.
Live podcasts directly from the SuperShow featured guests like Freightliner Custom Chassis President Jeff Sather, and National Indoor RV Centers President and CEO Brett Davis, proving that the new podcast was already relevant. Within a few weeks, the RV LIFE Podcast was in the top 10% of all podcasts, and after the first full year, sits comfortably in the top 3% tier of all podcasts, based on weekly downloads of new episodes.
A Year of Fun and Growth
Before long, the weekly podcast was touching on topics relevant to RVers of all ages. Subjects such as; RVing on a budget, cooking over a campfire, first aid kits, homeschooling, and even winter RVing were just a few of the show’s themes. Throughout the year, the RV LIFE Podcast enjoyed strong growth and listeners, culminating in the RV LIFE Live event, held during the Hershey RV Show. This event featured Dan and Patti in the role of emcees during a celebration of live music by The Border Hookups, great food, drinks, and camaraderie.Â
The Hunt’s capped off a year of live podcast events at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta at the Escapees display, before heading back towards Florida in anticipation of another big Florida RV SuperShow in January. Once again they’ll be doing live podcast shows, this time from the huge Freightliner display.
An Emotional Milestone for the RV LIFE Podcast
The one-year anniversary podcast episode was an emotional one for the Hunt’s. This very successful year was marked with health scares and personal loss, reflecting the real lives of podcast listeners everywhere. One of the reasons for the rapid growth of the RV LIFE Podcast is the genuineness and transparency of the podcast hosts. These authentic RVers often share their hearts in a way that resonates with their audience, who amidst their own travels and joys, often face similar challenges.
A Bright and Busy Future
As the Hunts prepare for 2024, they are busy wrangling schedules and advertisers. While they continue to review and seek prospective advertisers looking to be heard weekly on the RV LIFE Podcast, Dan and Patti feel they must authentically resonate with each one personally in order for them to be included on the show. While this might go against good accounting practices, it’s inline with the RV LIFE philosophies of community and authenticity. When your name is on the marquee, you must believe in the products and services you advertise.
