8 Private RV Parks That Are Close To National Parks
The United States is home to some amazing national parks. These destinations are always popular, but even more so when the weather warms up. RVers and campers are drawn to these natural preserves but need to find good places to set up camp. Luckily, there are private RV parks within striking distance of every national park.
If you want to camp within the parks themselves, you sometimes need to stay in a park-operated campground. These are usually fine, but sometimes they lack the comforts we expect to see in an RV park. However, there’s no need to compromise on the quality of your stay!
To help you out, we’ve singled out eight of the most popular national parks and located private RV parks that are close by. Of course, there are several more national parks to explore and a multitude of campgrounds and resorts, but we just wanted to narrow it down to the cream of the crop! 1. Yellowstone: Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park
First up we have Yellowstone! This park is very popular and the Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park is a wonderful place to set up camp. It’s a pretty small campground with only 57 sites available. Make sure you reserve a spot ahead of time if you want to stay here.
This RV park serves as a nice little base camp for your Yellowstone adventures. On the premises, you can enjoy access to a restaurant and saloon, a coffee bar, a fitness center, a pool, hot tubs, and more. The park also provides full hookups for RVs and a lovely natural setting. When you stay here, you’ll be close to the East entrance of Yellowstone.

2. Yosemite: Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination
California is always popular with RVers, and Yosemite is a national park that you don’t want to miss. A good private park in the area is the Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination. That’s a bit of a mouthful, but it’s a fantastic campground. It has 80 sites, all of which have full hookups for electricity, water, and sewage.

3. Grand Canyon: Grand Canyon Railway RV Park
The Grand Canyon lives up to its name! It’s a truly impressive landmark that many RVers visit again and again. If you’d like to stay at a private RV park nearby, check out the Grand Canyon Railway RV Park. This is a fairly large park with 124 sites. It also sports full hookups (50-amp electrical) so you can be comfortable.
The amenities are nice as well! This park has an indoor swimming pool, hot tubs, showers, laundry facilities, and a large picnic area. It also has the distinguishing feature of being the only all-paved RV park in the area. This complex also connects with the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, so you can book a stay in a room if you want a change of pace.

4. Great Smoky Mountains: Foothills RV Park
The Great Smoky Mountains are gorgeous and have attracted many travelers over the years. If you want to stay close to the park but still enjoy a nice setup, try Foothills RV Park. As the name suggests, this park is located in the foothills of the mountains and has been very highly rated by guests. It only has 32 sites though, so book your spot in advance!
This private RV park has all the lifestyle amenities you need for a comfortable visit. Full hookups are provided at every site, and they also have on-site restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. A pool is also included. The office will even set you up with firewood, ice, and free coffee, so stop by any time! This park also has a trolley that will take you to the nearby town. 5. Arches: Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway
Arches National Park is a beautiful and rugged area in Utah. The Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway is bordered by tall red cliffs on either side, but the park itself is nice and green. You get to enjoy the best of both worlds when you stay here. The park has 141 sites and full hookups for RVs.
Just minutes from the Arches National Park entrance, this private RV park prides itself on being family-friendly, so everyone can have a good experience. Guests can enjoy the swimming pool, a dog park, large outdoor games, and a wash/repair station for bikes.
