New Margaritaville RV Resort Coming To The Smokies
Any Jimmy Buffet fans out there? Developers of the Pigeon Forge Margaritaville brand are merging with the RV market to create a new RV resort called Camp Margaritaville Pigeon Forge.
The resort is surrounded by the majestic Great Smoky Mountains and just a short drive from downtown Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Campers and lodgers get the best of Tennessee scenic beauty and fun attractions just minutes away while staying at and enjoying the resort’s iconic ambiance.
“This is the first ‘Camp Margaritaville’ in the country. So we’re pretty excited about the amenity package. We’ve got a bar, grill restaurant,” said Developer Darby Campbell. “The RV industry has just exploded during this pandemic and then to have the Margaritaville Brand coupled with the RV Industry is a no-brainer. It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere.”
About the property
The RV resort is being built on a 37-acre property with mountain views. It was the location for the former Boyds Bear Factory, which stood vacant for 14 years. About 180 concrete RV pads will sit on the area that was once a giant parking lot, and the factory will become a 79-room lodge complete with a restaurant, bar, and pool. Guests also have the option of staying in a cozy cabin.
RV resort amenities
Besides enjoying the lodge’s amenities, guests of the RV park will have access to pickleball courts, putting green, kiddie play area, and water slide. Campers can appreciate the large RV sites with campfire pits, upscale bath and laundry facilities, and WIFI. The lodge rooms will “blend mountain latitude and island attitude” with a promise of choice amenities and superior service. The cabins will come furnished with necessities guests will need for their stay, plus the added convenience of choosing their privacy and personal contact level.
When is Camp Margaritaville scheduled to open?
Construction is expected to continue throughout the coming months. The RV park is scheduled to open in early May, and the lodge is slotted for welcoming guests no later than early August. You can get more information and updates on their website.
