Campground Site Seeks Funding, Looks To Pick Up Where Satellite & Street View Left Off

360 degree campground views

A campground location site is looking to crowdfunding to impact its bottom line as it seeks to provide full 360° virtual video tours of available campsites for prospective RVers and campers. Campground Views (not to be confused with RV LIFE Campgrounds, an RV LIFE property) has launched a page on IndieGoGo to source funding to make this dream possible.

360° Virtual Campground Views

With an estimated 2.3 million individual campsites in the United States, creating virtual tours and 360° views of each one is a daunting task. Google satellite view and street view can do a fine job, however for that RVer or camper that wants to see the entire campsite as if they were standing there, they may want to turn to Campground Views.

Video Is Great, But It’s Expensive

It’s never been easier to capture vast quantities of video on even the most mundane equipment. Today’s mobile phone has the power of a cinema camera of just decades ago. The real cost of video production comes in the editing. Quality editing takes time, and time is money. Cutting and blending shots, adding titles and theme music…it’s a long process, as any YouTuber will attest.

The rewards of quality video however are fantastic. If you have doubts about the viability of video, just look at YouTube or TikTok. Millions of hours of video are posted monthly. Consumers like to digest content in video.

See The Campground or Campsite Before You Arrive

There is an obvious benefit to knowing everything about your campsite before you arrive. RVers are planners, they need to be. You don’t just hit the road in a 40-foot RV without some advance RV trip planning. Knowing where the water spigot is, where the sewer inlet is located, how wide the site is, and are there trees to contend with, all play a part in site selection. If you could see those things ahead of time, it would certainly be useful.

Campground Views is a great idea, with currently just over 3,000 videos. Like any new business, the challenge is making folks see the value early on, and finding a way to monetize it and provide real value to all involved.
