New AutoCamp Locations Coming Soon In 2021

AutoCamp combines outdoor adventure and modern luxury at their glamping resorts with stylish accommodations in sleek Airstreams and luxurious tents, all set against the backdrop of stunning locations. If you’ve ever wanted to see and experience what all the fuss is about Airstreams in particular, here’s your chance to stay in one overnight or longer.

The California-based company recently announced plans for three new locations, AutoCamps in Joshua Tree, Zion, and the Catskills. These are in addition to the outposts they currently own and operate in Russian River Valley and Yosemite National Park, with a Cape Cod location set to debut this spring.

“This expansion continues to fulfill AutoCamp’s mission that is centered around creating a deeper appreciation for the outdoors through meaningful exploration and memorable adventures, all the while preserving the integrity and cultural significance of each destination,” said CEO and Founder Neil Dipaola.

Glamping Suites

Since its initial opening in 2013, AutoCamp has utilized Airstream travel trailers as its primary accommodation. Each 31-foot Classic model is outfitted with a queen-size memory foam bed with fresh linens, kitchenette with mini-fridge and essential cookware, and walk-in rain shower. An outdoor living space completes the site with a fire pit and furniture. The Airstream can accommodate up to three adults or two adults and two kids.

Besides Airstream suites, AutoCamp has other lodging options. They differ between properties and vary in the number of guests they can comfortably sleep. These additional options, including luxury tents, rustic cabins, tiny homes referred to as X Suites, ADA-accessible dwellings, and Airstream-tent combos, are also stocked with necessities and have a patio setup.

Amenities

A custom-built clubhouse is the hub of each AutoCamp location. This is the gathering spot for guests, designed with an open layout with various places to lounge and mingle. Guests can also utilize the spa-inspired restrooms and showers located in this area.

If guests come empty-handed, they can purchase grocery items or other supplies at the resort’s shop. Snacks, breakfast items, barbeque-ready meat, beer, and wine are sold. As posh as it can be, part of the enjoyment of glamping is cooking dinner over a campfire.

AutoCamp welcomes everyone, even pets. For an additional fee, up to two dogs can be included per reservation. All furry friends must be kept on a leash and have limited access to areas of the resort.

Experiences

The best part about any vacation is making memories. AutoCamp offers many opportunities for this on their property and gives several suggestions for off-site adventures, just minutes away.

On-site, AutoCamp offers weekly activities like yoga classes, live music, s’mores-making, fireside chats, and wine tasting with local wineries. Complimentary bikes are available to use on the property as well.

AutoCamps are located in popular tourist destinations, so there is no need to fret over finding things to do. Depending on the location, experiences can include sampling local food and drinks, hiking, kayaking, enjoying a scenic drive, checking out a museum, taking a charter to deep-sea dive, or skydiving. For ideas on activities around each glamping resort, AutoCamp has possibilities featured on the Experiences page.

Current and Future Locations

AutoCamp Russian River

Currently Open

Located in Sonoma County, AutoCamp Russian River is just a 5-minute car ride away from its namesake river and less than a 15-minute drive from the ocean, vineyards, or redwood forests. Guests can choose to stay in an Airstream, luxury tent, a retro camper, or a roomy, accessible dwelling for easier mobility.

AutoCamp Russian River is the smallest of the properties and relatively low-key.  Guests can gather around an indoor or outdoor communal fire pit or get some shut-eye on one of the resort’s hammocks. The following is a sneak peek about the property.

AutoCamp Yosemite

Currently Open

With Yosemite National Park as the backyard, there’s no telling what adventures await at AutoCamp Yosemite. An itinerary can include anything as calm as taking a guided tour in the national park or casting a line in the Merced River. It can consist of whimsical outings like meeting alpacas or taking a train ride.  Others may want to be more daring and attempt skydiving.  A shuttle takes guests to and from the national park daily.

Campers can book a stay in an Airstream, luxury tent, cabin, ADA-accessible dwelling, or Airstream/tent combo (also referred to as Basecamp Suites).

AutoCamp Cape Cod

Opening soon: April 1, 2021

AutoCamp Cape Cod will be the company’s first East Coast location and the first AutoCamp outside California.  It is located close to the shore, near Falmouth and Woods Hole.  Besides taking advantage of some fun in the sun on the Atlantic beaches, guests can take a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard or bike the almost 11-mile scenic Shining Sea Bikeway.

AutoCamp Joshua Tree

Opening Fall 2021

AutoCamp Joshua Tree is just outside the national park. The company is planning to offer organized park excursions and wellness activities as a pilot program. Guests can choose to stay in an iconic silver bullet, ADA-accessible dwelling, or X Suite, all equipped with HVAC systems for all-weather comfort.

The clubhouse will feature an outdoor bar, a plunge pool and hot tub, and a mobile kitchen for resident chefs. Campers will be able to enjoy stargazing as the area is a designated International Dark Sky Park.

AutoCamp Zion

Opening Spring 2022

Guests of AutoCamp Zion will be a hop, skip, and jump away from this national park. Hikers can squeeze through The Narrows or brave Angel’s Landing. All campers will have access to the Virgin River banks and some pretty spectacular views of the Gooseberry Mesa. Airstreams, luxury tents, ADA-accessible suites, and X Suites will be available to rent.

AutoCamp Catskills

Opening Spring 2022

AutoCamp Catskills location offers a host of off-site possibilities. Guests can explore the nearby historic towns of Woodstock and Saugerties, hike all over the Catskill Mountains, or ski down Hunter Mountain in the winter. The list is endless.

The glamping resort will house Airstreams, luxury tents, cabins, ADA-accessible suites, X Suites, and a barn house-themed clubhouse as a nod to the area’s agricultural and musical culture. Like AutoCamp Joshua Tree, the company plans to set up off-site excursions for AutoCamp Zion and Catskills.

  1. The only problem with auto camping is you can’t park your own RV there you have to rent there’s. These take up valuable space that RVers could use to park. And national parks and state parks have length limits I think 27 foot. And maybe they have one or two where you can park a motor home with all the people buying rv’s where is every one going to park. Also you can’t just park your rv anywhere that is a true statement. And Booming is just plain dangerous. Best to travel in a group. Good luck finding a place to hook up to.
