Video Tour: Fancy Gap KOA Campground
This week, we had the opportunity to visit and film the Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA Campground in Fancy Gap, Virginia. This was a very nice KOA campground located in a beautiful part of Virgina, about an hour and a half north of Charlotte, North Carolina.
We’ll take you through the entire campground and show you the sites, sounds, and features of this nice campground. It was a bit foggy, but we did get a little bit of drone footage added as well.
Best Campground Amenities
This KOA campground had some of the best amenities we’ve seen in a KOA. Along with standard KOA features and services, this KOA offers reasonably priced, freshly prepared dinners cooked on-site that can be delivered right to your campsite. In addition to pizza or barbecue, you can also have ice and firewood delivered.
You’ll also find a unique sluicing activity that is fun for the whole family. You can buy mining bags filled with pebbles, rocks, and gemstones and take them to the panning trough and pan for gems.
Pet Friendly RV Parks
KOA campgrounds are already known to be quite pet friendly. RVers are already familiar with KOA’s Kamp K9 dog parks. Those same RVers will like the fenced in Pet Backyard Sites at this KOA. At the back of the campsite is a fully fenced in dog run for just you and your traveling companions.
These specialty sites have plenty of room for the included fire pit and a couple of chairs while still leaving tons of room for Fido to run around. You can enjoy some campfire time while your pet enjoys some unchained fun.
