These Mini Motorhomes Are Perfect For RVing Couples

Motorhomes are a great blend of comfort and convenience, but many of them are designed to be used by larger families. There is a great priority placed on sleeping space, and sometimes the kitchen, bathroom, and living areas take a hit as a result. If you’re looking for mini motorhomes that are perfect for couples, there are still plenty of options for you.

Motorhomes come in many shapes, sizes, and designs. The three main types are Class A, Class B, and Class C. We’ll discuss the differences below, but we’ll only be covering Class B and C motorhomes in this guide; Class A models are generally too large to be called mini motorhomes.

So, without further ado, let’s explore some of the best small motorhomes for couples! You and your partner can definitely enjoy life on the road when you choose one of these models.

Class B Mini Motorhomes

Almost any Class B motorhome will work well for couples. These vehicles are also sometimes referred to as camper vans, and they are the smallest motorhomes you’ll usually find on the market. They are the shape and size of large vans, but instead of rows of seating, they are equipped with a compact living space. Slide-outs aren’t usually an option with this type of RV, so what you see is what you get (in terms of space).

Class B motorhomes are great for adventurous couples because you can take them almost anywhere. You won’t need to worry about squeezing around corners or finding a parking space that fits. Anywhere you can take a car, you can take a camper van. Most of these motorhomes will be great for couples, but there are a few designs that stand out from the crowd.

Winnebago Revel

  • Total Vehicle Length: 19 feet, 7 inches
  • Fresh Water Capacity: 21 gallons

The Revel is widely regarded as one of the best Class B motorhomes on the market today. It makes great use of space and provides all the necessities that travelers need. There is only one floorplan for the Revel, but it works well for individuals or couples.

The very rear of this motorhome is occupied by a large bed with a gear garage space beneath it. This is a great blend of comfort and utility. Windows surround the bed on two sides, so you can get plenty of natural light if you want.

A small wet bath sits across the hall from the kitchen. Both spaces are compact but effective. The kitchen includes a pantry, sink, induction cooktop, refrigerator, countertop extension, and some overhead storage space. Passengers can relax and enjoy their meal on the two-person bench seat and table. These furniture items sit directly behind the driver seats.

Arriva V24

  • Total Vehicle Length: 24 feet, 2 inches
  • Fresh Water Capacity: 31 gallons

The Arriva V24 is another popular model in the world of mini motorhomes, and it offers a bit more space compared to the Revel. One of the best features of this camper van is the fact that it has a dry bath! This is a rarity for Class B motorhomes. The rear of the V24 floor plan is occupied by the dry bath. It contains a toilet, sink, shower, wardrobe, and a small storage cabinet above the sink.

The bedroom is just outside the bathroom. This includes a pair of twin beds that can be converted into a single king-size bed. A TV is also mounted on a wall in the bedroom, so couples can relax and watch their favorite shows in bed.

The kitchen and dining space sit behind the driver’s seats. The kitchen appliances cover both walls and include a pantry, refrigerator, microwave, sink, dual-burner stove, and a storage cabinet. Also included is a fold-out table, which helps provide extra countertop space or just a nice place to sit down and eat.

Class C Mini Motorhomes

Class C motorhomes are what most people envision when they hear the word “motorhome”. These are built on the chassis of a truck or van, and they are generally a bit boxy. There is an overhanging section that extends over the driver’s cab, and this usually holds an extra bed or some storage space.

Slide-outs are more common in Class C motorhomes, and they can get a bit more inventive and flexible with their designs. These motorhomes are commonly used by families, but there are some models that are made with couples and single travelers in mind. These RVs are also a bit larger than Class B vehicles, but there are still plenty of options that could be called mini motorhomes.

Jayco Melbourne 24K

  • Total Vehicle Length: 25 feet, 2 inches
  • Fresh Water Capacity: 43 gallons

Jayco is a big name in the RV world, and they’ve delivered a great motorhome for couples with the Jayco Melbourne 24K. This floor plan incorporates two slide-outs to expand the space, so there is a good amount of open space.

The rear of this floor plan contains the bedroom. The queen-size bed sits within a slide-out so the room doesn’t feel cramped. Lots of wardrobe and storage spaces are also included in the bedroom.

A dry bath sits against one wall in the hallway outside of the bedroom. It’s simple and only contains a toilet, shower, and sink. A full kitchen setup, complete with overhead storage, takes up the opposite wall of this motorhome. All the appliances you need are included as well as a flip-up counter.

A booth-style dinette sits in a slide-out in the main living space. This frees up the living room and provides extra room for passengers to move around or add furniture items of their choosing. Overall, this design is perfect for couples who love mini motorhomes but don’t want to sacrifice the comforts of home.

Forest River Sunseeker MBS 2400B

  • Total Vehicle Length: 25 feet, 5 inches
  • Fresh Water Capacity: 35 gallons

The Sunseeker MBS 2400B from Forest River is another great Class C motorhome to keep in mind. It’s about the same size as the Melbourne, but their layouts are quite different. The back end of this RV is split between the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom lies flush against one wall, and it includes a decent-sized vanity, a toilet, a storage cabinet, and a shower.

The queen-size bed sits within a large slide-out that encompasses most of the right side of this floorplan. The rest of the slide-out is occupied by a U-shaped dinette and a storage area. This dinette faces the kitchen, which includes a 10-cubic foot refrigerator, sink, microwave, stove, and flip-up counter.

A TV swings outward from the driver’s seat area, and there is also an extra bunk above the cab. The entire cabin is comfortable, and the design is well-suited to couples. If you’re looking for mini motorhomes that will keep you comfortable and mobile, keep the MBS 2400B in mind!

  1. You write, “Anywhere you can take a car, you can take a camper van.” Generally true, but
    (1) not under low bridges (e.g., 8 foot underpass ok for car, not for camper van)
    (2) certain tunnels if propane on board
    (3) most parking garages
    (4) parking on the street with space shorter than 18 to 20 feet
Otherwise, yes, much easier to drive and park than a Class A !

  2. I have a 19′ Roadtrek. I know they used to make a 17 footer which is more, to me, of a “mini.” Does anyone know what the shortest Class B might be?

  3. THANK YOU almost perfect content! PLEASE also add next or below Thor/Forest River brands Mercedes Benz/VW chassis/powertrains brands as they are the hearts, bones and muscles to rely on for good motorized RV 🙂

  4. The Coachmen Nova RB floor plan surpasses all other floor plans for b class and the Li3 is the game changer, combined with an ECCO FLO Delta Pro Solar Generator and the long term boondocking is only limited by water supplies, a good filtering system fixes this and only threats now come from an EMP.

  5. I live full time in my Roadtrek 200 popular. 20′ long. But way less space than any class C because only 6′ 6″ wide. But I love as a solo. I do see many couples including some with 2 large dogs. Ugh! Too crowded IMHO.
But while many if those Class C are 24 to 26 feet and you didn’t include Class A as larger, there is one Class A that is 23 feet. Thor. To me what is nice about this is the much bigger seating space up front with a huge windshield for your picture window when parked. If I wanted to go bigger I would be looking at this.
