New Cookbook Features Camping Recipes For RVers

A new cookbook aims to give RVers some camping recipe inspiration beyond the typical hot dogs and s’mores. Written by an RVer for RVers, A Moveable Feast: Recipes For Rolling Kitchens is a beautifully illustrated cookbook by Claudia Jack Sutton with simple recipes that are easy to make in the RV kitchen or over the campfire.

As the author, Claudia, details in her introduction,

“In my experience, there are two key ingredients to enjoying cooking: organization and meal prep. This is never truer than when you are traveling and camping. A Moveable Feast cookbook includes helpful tips on stocking the pantry of your Airstream or other rolling kitchen, indispensable foods for meal prep and where to find them, and best of all, loads of recipes that include make-ahead fixings.”

Within the pages are beautiful illustrations by Claudia to go alongside each of her camping recipes. She details what trailer kitchen and pantry essentials you should keep stocked in your home on wheels, in addition to a wide assortment of gourmet meal ideas, nicely organized into the following chapters:

  • Breakfast
  • Soups
  • Salads
  • Veggies
  • Casseroles
  • Pasta
  • Seafood
  • Chicken
  • Pork and beef
  • Desserts
  • Cocktails

Try the South of the Border Grilled Fish Tacos for dinner, or keep it simple with the easy Campfire Potatoes. Her dessert recipes, such as the Grilled Bananas With Ice Cream & Bourbon-Caramel Sauce, or Grilled Nectarines With Blackberries & Ice Cream, will top off any meal quite nicely.

Should you have a recipe of your own that you love making while camping, or you discover recipes from friends while on the road, there are several blank pages at the end of the cookbook for writing in your own.

If you need more inspiration, “A Moveable Feast” has also included meal ideas at the end of the book, by combining a few recipes from each of the chapters and listing the page numbers of each recipe.

The author, Claudia Sutton, is a gourmet cook and artist based out of Sonoma Valley in Northern California.  Claudia and her partner John travel in a 27-foot Tommy Bahama Airstream and are members of the Greater Bay Area Airstream Club.

Her new book, A Moveable Feast: Recipes For Rolling Kitchens is available now through her website, RecipesForRollingKitchens.com. The cookbook is available as a softcover book as well as a digital e-Book. You can also follow her Facebook page here for more info.
