  1. Any Newmar is the best by far under 35 ft. The Baystar Sport (all models) have great layouts and the don’t compromise on quality. Even though it’s the same company, Newmar is just a better built motor home.
More importantly they are reliable and the slide outs are industry best.

You can have your Winnebago. I would take a Newmar over any other besides Tiffin.

  2. One thing that is not mentioned, is the wheelbase of each of these rigs! I had a 34′ Class ‘A’ with 190″ wheelbase and it porpoised over every bump. Our current 31′ Class ‘C’ has 225″ wheelbase and is a dream to drive!

  3. The only coach in here worth taking a look at is the Tiffin Breeze. Decent Diesel engine, well made interior, roof that won’t leak or ballon after a few years and reasonably comfortable fir two people. The coaches with the 19” tires means a light suspension and terrible ride. No way they have a decent CCCC. But, if affordability is an issue, I can see the other units as “entry” level, but not for larger families.

  4. We bought the Itasca Sunstar which is the sister coach to the Vista back in 2013. It was a great motothome for the price and was very well built. We decided it was too big for our needs and mileage is very poor with the F53 chassis. We decided to downsize to a class B+ for our needs.
We had purchased a Thor motor home that was bought new. We had nothing but problems with it since day one. There were water leaks, slideout issues, and something broke evey time we took it out. Thor customer service is a joke and I quit trying to get their help after three years of broken promises. When a customer service rep actually admitted to me what low quality of workmanship their assemblers provide, I knew it was time to get rid of the rig.

  5. The Vista 31B has 19.5-inch tires, something not even specified on the Winnebago website. That, combined with the lighter chassis, tells me the cargo carrying capacity would not be sufficient for the seven people it can possibly sleep, not unless you bring nothing else with you.

  6. Wow, so the Tiffin Breeze beats the just under 35′ Tiffin Open Road? And how bout the Newmar Ventana 3412? I’m just not feelin it. Maybe this article should be best less than 32′.

  7. Great article again, well done! Please also add 2 more standard info for future articles: a) Brand/Parent like Winnebago/Tiffin (THOR) b) OEM chassis powertrain like Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz)
