Average Width of a Class C RV (With 11 examples)

Class C RVs blend the high-quality living space of travel trailer with the easy-drive capabilities of a motorhome. These are vehicles that you can feel good about driving on the highway, and they’re perfect for anyone who wants to camp and explore in comfort. But they are a bit bulkier than standard cars, so what should you know about them?

The average width of a class C RV is 100 inches (8 feet, 4 inches). 100 inches is standard, but many models lean towards the thinner side with measurements of 96 inches or fewer. RV widths can be greater once slide-outs are extended, but due to state and federal laws, most road vehicles cannot be wider than 8 feet, 6 inches.

There is a bit more variety in the widths of class C RVs than many other types, but 100 inches is the standard that you’re most likely to see. Below is a list of 11 different models that illustrate this point. Their relevant measurements and specifications have been added as well.

This RV has a ton of great features for people who want to live on the road! This RV has a compact floor plan that makes everything cozy and easy to access. It’s one of the smallest on this list but doesn’t cut corners in its amenities. In addition to the main bedroom, there’s also an extra bunk bed above the driver’s compartment.

This RV is one of the smallest you’ll find anywhere! If you’re looking for a vehicle that will be easy to handle on the road, this is a great option to explore!

This floorplan is essentially split in half. The back half holds a double bed that connects into the unit’s bathroom. This can be accessed from both sides of the vehicle, making it easy for everyone. The rest of the space is occupied by the kitchen appliances and counter along one wall, and a dinette/ sofa along the opposite wall.

Just like the previous RV, the Orion T20CB is a small vehicle that still holds a great living space. There’s a double bed in the back half and a bunk bed in the front, which maximizes sleeping space. Overhead cabinets line many of the walls as well.
