Looking for the best RV camp spot near Asheville, NC can be difficult if you don’t know all the details, so I’ve gone ahead to write out everything you need to know to decide what unforgettable RV campsites to try out.

1. Campfire Lodgings

Located in Asheville, Campfire Lodgings is a great small campground that offers great customer service and a quality campground. They provide the necessities you need to vacation there, are located in a beautiful location, and offer premium RV sites, fit for 20,30, and 50 amps.

I love how this site is right on the mountain so you can have the best view of nature. It is the perfect place for camping adventures and is so simple. It comes with the simple amenities you need in the perfect place so you can have the perfect outdoor camping experience.

Activities in the Area

There are walking trails all around the camp which make a great place for afternoon walks with your spouse or walks with your pets. There is also a catch and release fishing pond on site, fun for the whole family.

As for as the area around the campsite, you can go golfing, whitewater rafting, take a trolley tour of Asheville and visit downtown Asheville, all nearby.

RV Rates

There are two different RV sites offered: the deluxe and premium. Deluxe is $55 a night and Premium is $75 a night. Any other person added besides two that the price includes is $4 more.

2. French Broad River Campground

I love the French Broad River Campground because they are so close to the river and close to downtown Asheville so you can have fun at the river and with exploring Asheville.

The only hold back may be the size of your RV. The maximum length is 32 feet for one here and they do not offer 50 amps for electric.

This campground is perfect for being so close to the river and the woods for outdoor activities. It may be limited on what RV sizes can stay, but it makes up for it with the “on the river” experience.

As far as nearby, as I said earlier they are right next to downtown Asheville which makes exploring Asheville easier and all its attractions.

For some other ideas, check out the Folk Art Center, WNC Nature Center, and other local trails available for horse riding and walks.

For Full RV sites including the sewer and electricity, it is $45 a night and $270 for a week stay.

3. Wilson’s Riverfront RV Park

Another beautiful option for a riverside view is the Wilson Riverfront RV park. It is wonderful not only with its views but wonderful amenities and service. They also have an RV supply store and RV repair shop right next to the RV park, perfect in case your RV needs any maintenance.

I love Rutledge because they offer sites for all types of RV’s, especially big ones. Not only that but it offers some of the best amenities.

Rutledge is in between Asheville and Hendersonville, perfect for visiting the different sites and attractions nearby.

There are several great activities you can do especially with great weather for outdoor fun. While you are here, you can hang out at the river, visit a golf club or check out some cool walking trails nearby.

There is also a kids museum, the Elijah Mountain Gem Mine, and Sliding Rock water slide you may want to check out when you are in the area. Perfect for families.

  1. Hi Jim, any recommendations for a nice park with annual rental available.? Would like to set our camper up for long term sporadic stays but have the convenience of having a ready set up place to call our “get away” home. Would also be interested in any parks you know of that may have some campers already set up for use but are interested in selling them.
