  1. Not one 55+ park listed for Tucson? Strange that Arizona’s second largest city, with multiple 55+ parks, had none good enough to be considered or the author has just never spent any time in Tucson. After years of snowbirding in AZ, NM, TX, and FL, we prefer AZ to the other locations. After staying in parks in the Phoenix area, we tired of the daily traffic jams. Since we are not golfers, in Casa Grande we dealt with limited dining, shopping, and outdoor activities. Benson was too small and Green Valley bigger, but both required trips toTucson for cultural activies, museums, unique events, a variety of shopping needs, and any medical emergencies. So, we investigated numerous snowbirding locations, from the county fairgrounds to gated RV resorts.

We finally settled on Rincon Country West RV Resort on Tucson’s S. Mission Rd. It has activities galore from multiple music clubs, arts and crafts clubs–sewing, quilting, paper crafting, and lapidary clubs: a wood shop; birding, biking, hiking, and photography clubs; to a garden-railroad club with a layout in front of the auditorium. The park has well-maintained landscaping; an entire complex with activities rooms, gym, swimming pool, pickleball and shuffleboard courts; a dog park, but also separate sections for dog owning residents and no-dog residents; rental and sale offices, etc.
